New York City Leads World in Pot Arrests
“Police busted nearly 400,000 people for carrying small amounts of pot in the last decade, making New York City the world leader in marijuana arrests.” Bloomberg should be ashamed!
According to the DEA’s “National Drug Threat Assessment 2008″… “Cocaine and heroin pose the most serious drug threats in the (NY) region”, “Heroin abuse in the region is extensive. The heroin available in the area is among the purest in the nation, drawing an increasing number of abusers, including young adults.”
The DEA’s report on New York abuse issues for 2008 concentrates on Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine and Club Drugs (in that order) and barely notes any Marijuana issues in NY other than trafficking passing through the state.
